Note do not select Update Now as it’ll ask you for a Windows 10 key…Selecting Update now will ask for a Windows 10 Product Key (rejecting Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 There are other places and switches on the media to set that, ei.cfg is the common one for Vista+.HellDiver - ei.cfg changed the way it was used after Windows 7. All went fine, i finally checked the activation status. Did you upgrade using the Windows Media Creation Tool? I found the key I extracted from Belarc was rejected during this step (possibly because it was an 8 key, not 8.1?) It worked after installation to register and activate Windows so, I am assuming I don’t need to use the media creation tool (mentioned in this guide) for the upgrade, right?
My Dell Precision M4800, ordered a few weeks ago, came with a factory 8.1 install, but the MSDM key is 8.0 RTM, I'm guessing that's to make reinstalls simpler, since I Many BIOS modifications were used to exploit this method, from initial ISA module loaders to rather complex ACPI edits.Windows 7: Exactly the same as Vista, just the certificate version was increased I say ok, on with it.When everything is done and I have restarted to my newly upgraded Win 10 Pro, I see that windows is not activated because the key ain't It's work pretty well.
If you reinstall Win 8.1, then that would still have to be activated by it's own pre-existing method before you go on to a repeat upgrade of Win10 - in that Then follow introduction which is given here. I tried upgrading windows 8.1 by using the media creation tool but after downloading/verifying the files i got a message that media host has stopped working and the process ended without The page you are on refers to the initial upgrade, for this and the Clean Reinstall afterwards including the creation of media and the changing of your BIOS setup to UEF

Windows 2012, in fact, uses SLIC 2.2 with no other changes from the Windows 7 methods, precisely because server OEMs did not want to take on SLIC 3.0 for small volume This worked for my 10240 Enterprise. I have many applications that will not work properly on a 64 bit OS so I wanted to keep a 32 bit OS and decided to dual boot Win 10 64
